You are invited to come join us for …
A time of reflection, renewal and rejuvenation as we experience again the highs and lows of Holy Week—making the journey from the exhilaration of Palm Sunday to the sorrow of Crucifixion and the joyous news of the resurrection. You are welcome to any and all of the following:
Palm Sunday – April 14th
7 a.m. – Men’s communion breakfast. A time of food, fellowship and communion for the men of the community.
10 a.m – Morning worship. We’ll distribute and wave palms as we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. The sermon is “The Irrepressible Gospel” based on Luke 19:22-40.
Maundy Thursday – April 18th
6 p.m. in Miner Hall – We’ll enjoy a light meal around the table as we remember Jesus’ last supper with his disciples and then celebrate communion, which Jesus initiated at this meal. The service concludes with the deeply moving Tenebrae, the service of darkness, marking Jesus’ abandonment as he goes to his death.
Good Friday – April 19th
During the day the church will be open for prayer and reflection, with devotional reading available.
7 p.m. We’ll join our neighbors at Trinity Church, Lime Rock for an ecumenical observance of Good Friday. Our pastor, Rich Reifsnyder, will be taking part.
Easter – April 21st
6 a.m. Sunrise service. We’ll gather at the church and walk up to the “cross on the hill” (Lanier’s farm, Brewster Road) for a brief service of resurrection. The message will be “Breakfast with Jesus” based on John 21:1-14 Greet the sun!
7 a.m. – Breakfast for all in Miner Hall. A great Falls Village tradition
10 a.m. – Morning worship. The most important celebration of the Christian year as we affirm the triumph of Jesus over death. The sermon is “Idle Tales and Gospel Truths” based on Luke 24:1-12.
