Dear Church Family, Lent is the traditional time to receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering, the most important and longstanding of the all-church offerings. These monies go primarily to disaster response and relief and refugee resettlement. This year of COVID-19 has affected all of us, but it has not affected all of us equally, and in many ways has hit hardest those who have the least resources to respond. Your gifts can provide a ray of hope for those affected by this pandemic and other disasters. Go to https://www.ucc.org/giving/ways-to-give/our-churchs-wider-mission/one-great-hour-of-sharing/oghs_resources for wonderful resources exploring the work done by this offering. There will be information and envelopes in the bulletin on Sunday. The offering is received any time in March and may be placed in the plate or mailed to the church at P.O. Box 72, Falls Village, CT. 06031. The Zoom Bible study on the Crucifixion narratives begins on Wednesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. An information flyer is attached and I hope many of you will join in on what should be a lively and informative class. Here is the link: Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88150990469?pwd=YTUzZ2dnRHhueHF1OGJldW9nYkFsZz09. We’ll be celebrating communion this Sunday and the choir will be leading in a song of preparation “O Taste and See.” The sermon is “Table Manners” and the scriptures are Exodus 20:1-17 (the Ten Commandments, a traditional preparation for communion) and 1st Corinthians 11:17-28. The link for those continuing to worship online is https://thefv.cc/online-worship/ . I look forward to seeing many of you on Sunday. Peace and Joy, Rich
