Dear Church Family, After a two year hiatus due to Covid, we are resuming one of Fall’s Village Congregational Church’s long standing traditions—hosting a program for American Field Service students attending HVRHS. The date is this Thursday, May 12, beginning with dessert at 7 p.m. These international exchange students will be providing background from their countries and sharing some highlights of their experiences in the United States. It is always an interesting and informative program. Kay Blass is heading up the event, open to all. Worship this Sunday will focus on “The Peaceable Kingdom.” The texts are Acts 11:1-18 and John 14:23-27. Lynn and I will be away next week. I am attending a preaching and worship conference I have attended for many years. It is meeting in person for the first time in two years with the requirement attendees be fully vaccinated and boosted. The conference is in Denver, so we’ll be getting on a plane for the first time since the pandemic began. Afterward, we’ll be visiting my college roommate and his wife, who are among our closest friends, with whom we vacationed when our children were young. They live in Estes Park, on the outskirts of Rocky Mountain National Park, where I worked for a summer when I was in college. It should be great fun. The Rev. Betsey Mauro, head of Women’s Support Services in Lakeville, will be leading in worship on the 22nd. She has been a longtime friend of our congregation and I know you will give her a warm welcome. See you in church. Peace and Joy, Rich
