Dear Church Family, We had a wonderful time last weekend at the wedding of our grand niece near Philadelphia. It was outdoors at a lovely spot. We stayed with one of our nephews and had a lot of good quality time to visit with family members. Of course, we were sad that the bride’s grandfather, Lynn’s brother Bing, was not able to be there because of his hastily scheduled heart surgery. He made it through the surgery but there have been subsequent complications which have us concerned. Please pray for him. You have heard from Dick Heinz about the death this week of our dear friend Carol Pleacher. She was told three years ago the prognosis was for 6-9 months and thankfully the Lord gave a much longer time. We were so glad we got to visit with her last May. When we talked to her husband Dave yesterday, he expressed great appreciation for prayers coming from around the nation, including our church. We are grateful too. There will be a brief graveside service for John Allyn at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sand Hill Cemetery, followed by a firemen’s ceremony. A reception will be held afterward at the Falls Village Fire Department Hall. Your continued prayers for his family would be appreciated. We continue our sermon series on the Lord’s Prayer. This Sunday we’ll be looking at the phrase “give us this day our daily bread.” The texts are I Chronicles 4:9-10 and Matthew 6:25-33 and the sermon is titled “The Bounds of Prayer.” See you in church. Peace and Joy, Rich
