Dear Church Family, Life continues to surprise us with the unexpected and the challenging. Yet through it all, God promises to give us strength sufficient for the day. Certainly, we have been discovering that in new ways in recent months. We are deeply grateful for the prayers and many expressions of support from our friends at the Falls Village Congregational Church. It means more to us than you can possibly imagine. A special word of thanks to Dick Heinz and Frank Hadsell for leading worship last Sunday. It is not easy jumping in at the last minute and trying to communicate someone else’s words, but they did a beautiful job. Someone described the service to us as very “warm” in spirit. Toby is doing well after this most unexpected heart attack. He had been in a lot of pain for more than a month, and had assumed he was dealing with acid reflux, as did two doctors he had seen. We feel God was with us, as we arrived in Winchester on the way back from TN on the very day the crisis hit. We have been with him since. He is doing well, although is fatigued. He anticipates returning to work next week and will begin cardiac rehab shortly. Assuming all continues to go well, we will be with you for the service this Sunday. This is “baptism of the Lord” Sunday in the church calendar. The theme of the sermon is “Consider your Call” and the texts are Isaiah 42: 5-9 and Matthew 3:13-17. Thanks again for your love and support. See you in church. Rich
