Dear Church Family, The Andersons and the Reifsnyders represented our Falls Village congregation at the celebration on Sunday honoring Liz Allyn for her 20 years of service as Minister of Music at Norfolk Church of Christ Congregational. It was a wonderful occasion with each of the various groups with which Liz is involved offering some kind of musical presentation. We sang “My Favorite Things (about Liz) to the Sound of Music tune. There were some very funny skits about Liz as choir master and her frenetic ability to keep so many balls in the air. I introduced our musical tribute which was well received (check it out on the current events page on our website https://thefv.cc/community/current-events/). Everyone mentioned not only Liz’s musical gifts, but the kind and encouraging spirit with which she does everything. Liz was given some gifts and responded to the outpouring with gracious humility. The event ended with everyone joining in the singing of Abba’s song “Thanks for the music.” It was great fun and a well-deserved tribute. How blessed we have been to have had Liz as our music director these past 3 years. We’re fast approaching Valentine’s Day, so what better theme for this Sunday’s service than love. The sermon is “The Patience of Love” and the texts are Hosea 11 and 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. See you in church. Rich
