Dear Church Family, A Good Word this week provides some information about upcoming opportunities 1st from Linda Ryan, chair of the Outreach Committee regarding Silver Lake Conferences Over the years, the Outreach Committee has been offering scholarships to the young people’s camps at Silver Lake Conference Center. Please go on line to www.silverlakect.org to find out about the 17 different sessions for grades 4-12, with one day camp week for 1st-3rd graders. The camps run from the first week in July to the first week in August. Of particular interest has been that 1st-3rd grade Day Camp (July 10-14 which costs $425-335 depending on additional scholarships from the camp itself.) The Outreach Committee is very happy to help out with some of the cost. Please contact us if you are interested for a child/grandchild or community youngster. 2nd, National Day of Prayer – 12 noon, Thursday May 4, 2023 on the Falls Village Green. Falls Village will be observing this non-partisan opportunity to pray for our country and its important community institutions. Our congregation has been a strong visible presence at this event the last few years, joining with other community leaders and friends to stress the importance of prayer and a strong foundation of faith for the well being of our nation and community. Please join us. I’d invite anyone who attends to join me afterward for lunch at the Stateline in Canaan—our treat We also received thank you notes from the United Church of Christ, for our donations of $193.50 to the Christmas Fund for Veterans of the Cross/ Emergency Assistance and $200 for Ukrainian Relief. These were the designees of our Christmas offering. Thank you for your generosity. Worship this week deals with the thorny topic of God’s judgment.
