Dear Church Family, Is it possible that May is upon us already? I do love the spring and to see the beauty of nature come alive. Every day I look at some part of our yard exploding in color, and only wish I were a little more agile this year in getting my hands in the dirt! There is a lot of activity this weekend. Some of you may be up early to watch the coronation of King Charles III. Some would not think of missing the Kentucky Derby later in the day. At 4 p.m. the Historical Society with which I’m involved will be hosting a talk at Scoville Library by Tim Binzen on the “Native American Heritage of the Salisbury area,” in particular the Mohican community of Weatogue. Maybe I’ll see some of you there. At Sunday worship we will be looking at the post resurrection appearance of the risen Lord to Paul and his subsequent conversation. The texts are Acts 9:1-9 and John 14:1-14. The sermon is titled “Changed!” and communion will be celebrated. Sunday afternoon, at 3 p.m. the Litchfield North Association, of which we are part, will have its annual meeting at the Salisbury Congregational Church. Dick Heinz is our official delegate, but we’re entitled to send several others if you’d like to go. Congregationalist are fiercely independent, but there are some things we do together and it is a good opportunity to connect and learn how other churches are engaging in ministry. It’s a busy weekend, but I look forward to seeing you in church on Sunday. Peace and Joy, Rich
