Dear Church Family, The Good Word will be very brief this week, since we’re focused on the visit of Josh, Liza, and the 3 girls. I’m glad many of you got to see them in church on Sunday. We’ve been busy and having fun—playing in the backyard kiddie pool and sprinkler, making bubbles, reading, picking blueberries from our bushes, learning about the American girl dolls and stories, watching sailing camp (which Christie is attending), doing a children’s historical scavenger hunt in Salisbury, going to the Town Grove, making creations with playdough, enjoying some of the children’s favorite videos—and more. A highlight was the family hosting a special anniversary meal for us, complete with mood music and candlelight. The older girls, Christie and Emme, were the servers. It was really adorable. We began our sermon series last week on “family life with the patriarchs and matriarchs.” It is the story of God’s working his purpose out through this most extraordinary and turbulent family. We look at Jacob and Esau again this week. The sermon is “Unfinished Business,” and the text is Genesis 27:1-45. Thanks to Donna, Linda, and all who worked on the bake sale last week. We made over $300 and I know our granddaughters enjoyed the cookies and brownies we got. See you in church. Rich
