Dear Church Family, It is nice to be able to renew treasured church traditions. One of those we are resuming this year is the Apples n’ Things fair which is this Saturday, November 11, from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Apple pie galore will be available, as well as homemade crafts, and a delicious chili and cornbread lunch, served from 11 -2. It is a fundraiser, but the best part is the comradery and fellowship. Pie makers will be gathering on Friday at 9 a.m. and there is always a need for apple peelers. We are also beginning our stewardship emphasis this week. Using gifts and talents, as we do in so many ways in our church, is the primary way we serve God and neighbor. But we are also invited to make a financial commitment to support the church and its mission as our response to the goodness of God. I appreciate the low key, gentle way we handle stewardship in our church, with a deep trust to allow God to guide our giving. Stewardship will be the theme of worship this week. I will preach a stewardship sermon, as I have for more than 50 years. It is a central and important biblical topic. The sermon is “The Privilege of Giving.” The texts are Amos 5:18-24 and 2nd Corinthians 8:1-15. See you in church (and hopefully on Saturday too!) Peace and Joy, Rich
