Dear Church family, One of the opportunities I’ve enjoyed in my ministry is to mentor seminary students in training and young ministers in their first call. I benefited greatly from being mentored during the three years I did field work during seminary at Park Congregational Church in Norwich, CT and in my first call at Salisbury Congregational Church, working with Charlie Ranson, from whom I learned so much. One of the seminary students with whom I worked has just accepted a new call to Southampton Presbyterian Church, established in 1640 and considered the oldest Presbyterian Church in the US. I am honored that he has asked me to preach at his installation as pastor this coming Sunday morning. Terry Ryan will be leading in worship in my absence. How grateful I am for his and Linda’s involvement in the Falls Village Congregation, for many reasons, not the least of which is his willing and able leadership of worship. Communion will be celebrated on this 3rd Sunday in Lent. One Great Hour of sharing information will be available this week and the offering will be received on March 10. A 2-week Lenten study on the meaning of the cross will be held on March 13 and 20 from 2-3 p.m. More information to follow. Have a good service this Sunday. See you in church soon! Rich
